VISITING ARTIST: MIKE WEARY We’re thrilled to announce Mike Weary as our visiting artist who will be painting live in the lobby during this Access for All Day program! Mike Weary, a self-taught artist from New Orleans, is known for his dynamic, upside-down painting style and innovative use of materials like rusted iron and patina. His works explore resilience, identity, and community and have been showcased in galleries across the Gulf Coast and beyond. An active arts advocate and community organizer, Mike serves as Artist in Residence and Artist Liaison for the Arts Council of Baton Rouge. He leads projects like Arts for Everybody and serves on the board of the Louisiana Partnership for the Arts, where he helped establish April 18 as Louisiana’s official Day of the Arts.
