Pulling inspiration from George Rodrigue’s landscapes, participants will learn about color theory and ways to create interesting compositions, resulting in their own painting to take home. Led by Tajreen Akter. Ages 18+, all skill levels welcome. Enrollment limited to 20; advanced registration required. $25 for students, $35 for members, $45 for general public.

About the instructor

Tajreen Akter was born in Bangladesh in 1988. She started her art career as a child participating in many group exhibitions and juried shows all over the world and has received awards throughout Bangladesh, China, and India.   She spent her formative years in Dhaka, Bangladesh and receiving  a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Drawing and Painting from Dhaka University in 2012. In 2016, Akter received her MFA from Louisiana State University. Akter currently teaches at Louisiana State University.
