Recreating Elliott Daingerfield's studio

Unknown, Elliott Daingerfield in his Library, Undated. Gelatin silver print. Morris Museum of Art, Augusta, Georgia.

Inspired by the image of Elliott Daingerfield in his library, LSU Museum of Art compiled several objects from the permanent collection to create an area in the Everlasting Calm exhibition that are evocative of his space. Alongside these pieces of furniture and decorative arts are reproduction images of Daingerfield with his daughter and students as well as works of art related to his family and home—a drawing of his mother and a painting of his third North Carolina studio, Westglow.

Scroll over the image below to take a closer look at the space, then stop by the museum to see it in person.
